Hey guys, so we are now even closer to the end of the semester which means getting closer to being done with our careers class but the good news is even after our class is over we will still be posting blogs and posting videos and pictures so you can see how Benjamin and Dalton are doing. We are very proud that this project is as successful as it is and we can't wait to see how far this project may take us. The weekend was so amazing going to both families houses and seeing how amazing they both are and how supportive they are to both of us. We got such great footage and we can't wait to upload them and get going with the doc. We hope to finish by Christmas break which is just around the corner so of course have been staying after school and getting advice from teachers and students on how to improve the doc and maybe even ideas on what to add to make it more effective. This project is going so much better than any one of us could have hoped but it is one of the proudest things we have done and i can't wait to see how it turns out stay tuned..
We are now coming down to the last couple of weeks of the project and this week is gonna be a HUGE week for the project because we are now starting the documentary which is the main goal of our project! Today we are going around interveiwing some of Benjamin's and Dalton's family friends to get some information of how they like being neighbors and friends with him and share some stories of good times they have had. This weekend we will be traveling to both of Benjamin and Dalton's house to record them having fun doing normal activities they enjoy and talk to their family about how having a child with autism has changed them and made them the people they are today! We are so very excited to start the documentary but we are also very nervous since this is one of the biggest projects we have ever done and we really want it to be best one yet! Stay tuned for more pictures from the weekend and some videos of things we have recorded. We are lastly so happy to announce that we are in the Ionia Sentinel Standard and their is an article about the project in there so we would encourage you all to go check it out!
Hello there again, we are on our 8th week of the Just Like You project and things are in full swing for us this week. We tried to do a video blog but we ran a little short on time but we still have been very busy with the project. This weekend is the No More Sidelines dance held at our school and Jacey will be attending and taking some pictures with some of the kids to get a little bit more pictures on Our Trip page. This week we made a poster board about our project and presented it at parent teacher conferences and I would say it was an overall success and we got to explain to parents in the community about our project and they were very impressed. This upcoming week we will be talking to possibly some teachers and Dalton to put up on the website and maybe even some students in Links which is a program here at our school which helps out special needs kids in the school. Thanks so much for the support and please continue to read/watch our blogs and upcoming posts!
